Pot odds are the ratio of the current size of the pot to the cost ofa potential call. If, on the river, a player bets $30 into a $50 pot, thepotential caller will be risking $30 to win $80 and is said to be getting potodds of $80-to-$30 or 8-to-3. And for his call to be profitable, he must win atleast 27.3 percent of the time.
