APL TAIPEI has completed its eighth day. On June 14, at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei, Taiwan, Day 2 of the APL Main Event was held, alongside three flights of Day 1 for the Mini Main Event.
In addition, the sixth High Roller Single Day event was held. The #54 High Roller Single Day Ⅵ event was especially significant as it produced a Triple Crown winner for the series.
The spotlight was on Kim Hyunsup (Dipper), who claimed victory in this event, which saw 76 entries. Kim defeated Japan’s Naohiro Matsuda in heads-up play, taking home NT$877,680 in prize money and securing his third trophy of the series, following his previous wins in the NLH Turbo and High Roller Single Day Ⅲ events.
Meanwhile, Day 2 of the APL Main Event also progressed. The #31 APL Main Event recorded a total of 1,178 entries, with 176 players making it into the money and advancing to Day 2.
After approximately seven hours of fierce competition, 32 players survived to close out Day 2. Ha Sungmin advanced to Day 3 as the chip leader with a 3.525 million stack. Day 3 will commence at 12:00 PM on June 15.
The #53 Mini Main Event, with a guaranteed prize pool of NT$4 million, also kicked off Day 1 on this day with three separate flights starting from 11:00 AM. Previously, two overseas Day 1 flights were held on May 31 and June 1 for Korean qualifiers, where 67 entries were recorded. On Day 1A, 299 entries were added, surpassing the target number of entries.
Subsequently, Day 1B saw 270 entries, and Day 1C had 162 entries, bringing the total to 798 entries. As a result, the prize pool more than doubled the original guarantee, reaching NT$10,227,168. Like other events, approximately 15% of each flight's entries advanced to Day 2 and secured a payout, resulting in 120 players moving forward. Day 2 will begin at 11:00 AM on June 15.
Two Korean players also captured titles on this day. Jung Mi Ae won the #55 Queens Ⅱ event, designed for female players, earning NT$99,702 and a trophy. In the #59 Late Night Madness Ⅷ event, Chae Chang Seog claimed victory, securing NT$39,526 and a trophy.
Hong Kong players also had a strong showing. Ka Fai Calvin Lau won the #56 9 Game Dealers Choice event, taking home NT$133,256 and a trophy. King Chun Horace won the #57 Pot Limit Omaha Hi Turbo event, earning NT$136,604 and a trophy. Finally, Dicky Siu Hang won the #58 Hyper Turbo Ⅱ event, collecting NT$113,311 and a trophy.

On June 15, Day 9 of the series will kick off, with the APL Main Event Day 3 determining the final table players. Additionally, the Mini Main Event champion will be crowned after Day 2, and Day 1 of the Micro Main Event will begin. The KMGM Royal Road, a collaboration with KMGM, Korea's largest hold'em pub brand, will also take place.
