APL TAIPEI Day 6: Korean Super Player Shines ()

APL TAIPEI has reached its halfway point and entered Day 6. On June 12, the Super High Roller champion was crowned, and the second session of the Main Event Day 1 took place. In addition, several side events such as High Roller Single Day and NLH were also held.
In the #32 Super High Roller event, Korea’s Kang Kisuk secured the championship title.
Registration for the event remained open until the start of Day 2 at 1 PM, ultimately drawing 91 total entries. After approximately six hours of play, nine players advanced to the final table. Among them were seven Korean players, including Kang Kisuk, Han Taehun, and Kang Wongyu.
Following Han Taehun’s third-place finish, heads-up play began between Kang Kisuk and Macau’s Leong Iat Man. In just the second hand of heads-up, Kang won a 5-bet all-in showdown preflop to secure the title. He took home NT$2,224,400 in prize money along with the championship trophy.
Two Main Event Day 1 flights were held on this day. Day 1C started at 11 AM and attracted 223 entries. With 15% of the field advancing, 33 players, including Kim Soojo, secured their spots for Day 2.
Later, Day 1D began at 6 PM, recording 131 entries. Out of these, 20 players including Chun Junbeom advanced to Day 2 and made it into the money.
Two additional back-to-back champions were crowned in the series. Park Jinwoo of Korea won his second title by taking down the #41 PLO Bombpot Single Board II event, earning NT$77,750. Shortly after, Taiwan’s Hsiao Hao Wen (Bank Bank) claimed his second trophy by winning the #40 NLH event, collecting NT$197,246.
In the #39 High Roller Single Day V event, Belgium’s Kristof Segers secured the title and NT$624,640 in prize money.
Hong Kong’s Siu Mang Chu won the #42 Limit Triple Draw Lowball Mix II event, earning NT$115,388. Taiwan’s Yung Chun Wang claimed the #43 Turbo Crazy Pineapple title, taking home NT$102,556.
In the turbo-format #44 High Roller Hyper Turbo III event, Taiwan’s Kou Long Chueh captured the victory and NT$241,900. Finally, Singapore’s Guofeng Hoe won the #45 Late Night Madness VI event, earning NT$64,210.

On June 13, the final two Main Event Day 1 flights will be held, along with the ES Studio Mega Stack event, hosted in partnership with Korea’s leading holdem pub brand ES Studio.
